CLOSED: Oreck Halo Vacuum Review and Giveaway

Congrats to winner 903 Bridget for winner the Oreck Hao Vacuum…

oreck Halo VacuumI had the chance to test out an Oreck Halo Vacuum Cleaner. When I received the box I was very excited to take it out of the box and give it a try. Of course all the daycare kids were watching me as I open the big box wondering what was in it. I was really expecting a lot of pieces to put together but I was very surprised. I took it out of the box and the only thing I had to put on was the handle. It was very simple to put on. It also has two attachments and the hose that came with it. Soon as I got the vacuum together I plugged it right in and went ahead and gave it a try. I was very amazed at all the dirt that it got up. I actually saw the dirt vibrating to the vacuum. Here is a look at how the vacuum cleaned…

Make sure your sound on your speakers are not up to loud.

I did not have to go over the spot over and over to get up the crumbs. As you saw I went up once and back once and the floor was clean. I have vacuumed with it several of times since then and loved how it picked up the dirt.  I used the hose around the base boards and it had wonderful suction.

Here are some features that theOreck Halo has:

  • Patented UV-C light chamber kills many of the germs, bacteria, mold, dust mite eggs, and flea eggs on your floors – in just a few seconds. And it’s chemical-free.
  • 2-in-1 cleaning power in just one easy step. The UV-C light kills many of the germs and microbes on your floors, and powerful suction removes dirt, dust, and other debris just like all of our trusted vacuums.
  • Comes with 1 year’s supply of HEPA13 filter bags, which capture 99.95% of particles down to 0.3 microns.
  • Weighing about 17 lbs., the rugged design makes it easy to use.1
  • Above the floor Cleaning: Attachments include a 13 ft. detachable hose, crevice tool, and brush that quickly click-lock into place and let you easily clean stairs, drapes, furniture, corners, and all kinds of fabrics.
  • Wide cleaning path and a 29-ft. power cord let you clean quickly and efficiently, reaching every corner of your home.
  • Five-level height adjuster allows you to move from carpets and rugs to tile and hardwoods with ease.
  • Specifications:

  • Filtration: HEPA 13

  • Weight: 17 lbs. 1

  • Warranty: 5 Years

  • Color: Jet Black and Cobalt Blue

  • Headlights: 5 LED bulbs

  •

  • Tune-ups:  3 annual (free).

    • Inner bag: Self sealing with bag dock system

    • Cord length: 29 ft.

    • Handle: Soft grip with power switch, brushroll switch, and UV-C switch.

  •

The other feature I like is the UV-C light to kill germs. There are a lot of germs on the floor that regular vacuums don’t get.

Halo UV-C Technology: How it works

    Patented Halo light chamber

The light produced by the patented Oreck Halo light chamber magnifies and concentrates ultraviolet light in the C spectrum. UV-C light is a natural source of light that the sun produces and can be a better alternative to harsh chemicals.

    Proven germicidal benefits

UV-C light has long been known for its germicidal benefits, killing many microorganisms by disrupting their cellular DNA. Laboratory studies prove it to be effective at reducing bacteria, germs, and other contaminants on various floor surfaces

I have been using bag less vacuums for a few years now so going back to a bag vacuum was a downfall. I don’t mind using bags but I like to be able to not having to buy bags and worrying about not having any in the house when I need them. I do like that its a Hepa Filter Bag. The less germs in the house the better.

Oreck Halo is available for $599.95 on Oreck’s Web site  or by calling Oreck directly at 1-888.600.HALO.

    Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week?

    Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week?

    heart

With my daughter being a heart baby. Every year I make sure I do something for the week of Feb 7th-14th. The last two year we wore pins and bracelets. We also have sweatshirts with her name on it. I wanted to spread the word to all my readers a little bit of information about Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week.

    What is CHD Awareness Week?

CHD Awareness Week is an annual awareness effort to help educate the public about Congenital Heart Defects. Participants include individuals, local support groups, national and local organizations and congenital cardiology centers throughout the world!

    Why is it important?

Congenital Heart Disease is considered to be the most common birth defect, and is a leading cause of birth-defect related deaths worldwide. Despite the fact that CHD affects approximately 1.8 millions families in the U.S.,  a relatively small amount of funding is currently available for parent/patient educational services, research, and support. By sharing our experiences and providing information, we hope to raise public awareness about conditions that affect approximately 40,000 babies each year in the United States alone. It is our sincere hope that efforts to educate the public will result in improved early diagnosis, additional funding for support and educational services, scientific research, and access to quality of care for our children and adults.
