Halloween Time

So now that Halloween is just right around the corner, what are your kids going to be? All the girls including mine in my daycare are being Disney Princesses. My daughter is going to be Tinkerbell, my oldest daughter is going to be a dead bride and my son of course is going to be Jason.

He had a hard time this year picking out his costume. I love going shopping for costumes. They really do have some cute ones out there.

I am holding my daycare Halloween Party next Friday and really excited about it.

How is working outside the home different from staying at home?

I really don’t think there is a difference when you have kids. To me, I think having kids is just like going to work outside the home. Let me explain a bit.

Kids can sometimes be very demanding like bosses. There is always something they need done. Whether it’s something to eat, a change of clothes and help with something they can’t do.

Deadlines are another big one. When I compare working outside the house and staying home I come up with a few deadlines that are similar.

  • Cooking- there is always a certain time that the kids want to eat
  • Cleaning- you know you try to get the cleaning done while the kids are napping but always end up not finishing.
  • Laundry- trying to get all the clothes clean before your kids are out of clean underwear

When I think about working and dealing with arguing customers or clients it reminds me of my arguing kids. The kids always seem to argue about something. My kids can argue about the color of the sky. I try to explain to my oldest daughter who is nine that her five year old brother is here to torment her. He feeds off of how she reacts.

I sometimes really wonder how it would really be working outside the house. I love to stay home with my kids and take care of my daycare kids also. Being a stay at home mom is a full time + job.

So Dora’s Getting a New Makeover

A few week ago I was reading the news on my phone and came across a post about the new Dora makeover. At first I was stunned about it. I heard my oldest daughter who is 9 saying that everyone in school is talking about the new Dora change. All of my daycare kids love to watch Dora.

I feel that it is very disapointing to the younger kids. The younger Dora is about learing and going on advertures with boots and the new Dora seems to be about shopping, makeup, jewlery, and clothes. I guess in a good way the kids that are getting older can “grow-up” with the tween Dora. I guess we will see when the show starts to see how many tune in.
