And all it took was a handshake…

And all it took was a handshake…

So my boyfriend and I went out to dinner last night without the kids. We decided to go to an Italian Restaurant that is by our house. When we got there there wasn’t hardly any one there. We were seated behind a guy and his family, the guy was dressed in his army attire. So after about 20 mins. of sitting there just talking to my boyfriend we had some other people that were seated a few tables down from us.  I looked up just to notice the people being sat, one of the guys that was with the group stopped dead in his tracks to shake the guy dressed in his army attire’s hand. He told the army guy that he appreciates everything the armed forces do for the country.

I looked at my boyfriend and told him what had happened. I just thought it was very nice and that these days you do not see much of that happening around here.  It gave me goose bumps when I saw it..

Thanks to all that the Armed Forces do for the country!

i think i experience this alot more because i have ALOT of military friends I graduated HS 2002 so alot of us where sitting in our classrooms when 2001 happen and i know that influence alot of my friends to sign up. Right now only 1 of the many is in Iraq but at some point it was about 10 of my friends. So we had lots of Welcome back parties. And allot of Thank yous. But its never too much of course. They do so much.

That was a wonderful thing that person did. I know a lot of places/companies do much to support those that serve in the military, but as individuals we too need to show appreciation.

that reminds me of a time I went out to eat with my grandpa (who has since passed). He was wearing his “retired US Army” hat and a man stopped us outside the restraunt to tell him thank you. It made my grandpa smile from ear to ear! We really need to show our appreciation so much more!
